The privacy and security of your personal information is extremely important to us. This privacy notice explains how and why we use your personal data so you can be confident about sharing your details with us.

Your personal data - what is it?

Personal data is any information that relates to a living individual who can be identified from that data for example your name or address. Identification can be by the information alone or in conjunction with any other information that may already be held.  The processing of personal data is governed by the 2018 General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which comes into force 25th May 2018.

Who are we?

In this policy, whenever you see the words ‘we’, ‘us’, ‘our’, or 'the Friends', it refers to The Friends of the Cathedral of the Forest. 

How do we process your personal data?

The Friends complies with its obligations under the GDPR by keeping personal data up to date; by storing and destroying it securely; by not collecting or retaining excessive amounts of data; by protecting personal data from loss, misuse, unauthorised access and disclosure and by ensuring that appropriate technical measures are in place to provide that protection.

We use your personal data for the following purposes:

  • to keep you informed of services, news, activities and events affecting the All Saints Church, Newland
  • to enable us to administer membership records
  • to fund raise and promote the interests of the Friends
  • to manage our Trustees, Friends membership and other volunteers & groups
  • to maintain our accounts and records, including the processing of Gift Aid forms
